Happy Halloween - sorry so late : )

Leah was a Purdue cheerleader and pumpkin princess for Halloween. She still asks, nearly every day, when we can go trick or treating again : )

First Day of Preschool

I cried, Leah grinned as she walked through the doors for her first day of preschool. She was so excited to wear her new backpack and carry her lunch!

Fall Fun

We went to the Batavia Octoberfest and the Apple Orchard this past weekend. Leah had a blast dancing to the German music and picking (eating) tons of apples.

I'm TWO!

Leah turned two on Friday. She really grasped the birthday concept and was in to the presents and, of course, the cake!

First Haircut!

Leah LOVED getting her hair cut yesterday. She is such a girl! She kept running her fingers through it and looking in the mirror. Too funny.

Summer Fun!

Well, at 21 months, Leah is having a blast! She's so busy swimming, climbing, running and playing that she hardly has time to talk...yeah right! She is really giving me a run for my money during my "vacation" from work. We just returned from a long weekend in Michigan with Nana and Papa. Leah had a great time picking blueberries, swimming in the lake, and playing in the sand.

Happy Easter!

18 Months

At 18 months, Leah is a CHATTERBOX! She is putting whole sentences together and is becoming a force to be reckoned with when it comes to arguing : ) Her new phrases are: "no Not!", "Mi-CHI-gan(sounds like a sentence instead of a word)," "I sorry Mama," "More cheese please!" and "Don't fall Leah!" It's so much fun talking to her and watching her learn and play with language.

Dressing up!

Leah's new favorite thing to do is to play dress up: hats, scarves, shoes, jewelry and makeup are all fan favorites. She says all of them very clearly, and loudly, when she wants to pretend.

Children's Museum

Leah had a blast exploring the children's museum on Monday. She especially loved following the other kids around and mimicking them.

16 months!

Leah is a spitfire now! She knows what she wants and is getting crafty in her maneuvers: shutting the door to the bathroom when she wants to unroll all the toilet paper and hiding her veggies so that she can move on to her cheese, or bread, or fruit. She is repeating everything, and I mean everything, she hears. Her latest phrases are: "oh boy," "come on," "oh nooooo," and "good morning." Tantrums are the norm right now...the terrible twos have come early!
